Overview | Blafar’s Hyperbranched PEG-based Multi-Acrylate Polymer (HB-PEG) is synthesised using poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) with different chain length as the monomers. Molecular weight, branching degree and vinyl group content of the polymers can be easily adjusted. HB-PEG possesses good biocompatibility as well as fast gelation rate with thiolated natural polymer (HA-SH/Gel-SH) which make these types of polymers very promising materials for biological applications. Moreover, HB-PEG can be crosslinked by UV irradiation in the presence of the photoinitiator, making it particularly suitable for 3D bioprinting. It may be used in conjunction with ECM proteins such as collagen, laminin or fibronectin for most 3D cell culture and tissue-engineering applications. Our HB-PEG polymer is suitable for tissue engineering applications, especially for the production of hydrogels in the investigation of 3D bioprinting. Blafar’s HB-PEG possesses a high amount of acrylate groups in the terminal chain of the polymer structure which make the gelation time of this type of polymer very short with thiolated biopolymers (< 10 mins) or exposed to UV light (< 1 min). All batches of HB-PEG are provided with the full Certificate of Analysis. |
