Methacrylated Hyaluronic Acid (HA-MA)

Synonyms: HA-MA, HA methacrylate, Hyaluronic Acid MA

Blafar’s photo-curable methacrylated hyaluronic acid (HA-MA) is a modified form of the naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan and component of the extracellular matrix (ECM), hyaluronic acid – making it particularly suited to cell culture, cosmetic and medical device applications. HA-MA can be used in conjunction with ECM proteins and biopolymers such as collagen, laminin, or fibronectin, for most 3D cell culture and tissue-engineering applications.

Specifications available: 450 / 220 / 110 kDa HA raw material & 50 / 25 / 10 % substitution degree (SD). This product is packaged in 2 mL or 10 mL glass vials.

Grade: R&D grade or GMP like*
* Our GMP-like products are manufactured in our ISO Class 7 clean room, located within our ISO 13485 certified facilities.

Technical Information

Form: White solid foam
Solubility
: Water, PBS
Cytotoxicity: Biocompatible
Applications: Hydrogel preparation, 3D cell culture scaffold, 3D bioprinting, ECM substitute

HA-MA is especially suitable for 3D bioprinting, as it can be crosslinked with a very short gelation time upon photoirradiation (in the presence of a photoinitiator). Blafar offers a range a HA-MA products with different molecular weights and degrees of substitution options.
